At the Hampden Academy gym, Jaron Baude scored 18 points to help Hampden/Bangor beat Bucksport for the unified basketball North crown.
Hampden/Bangor advanced to Thursday’s state final at 6 p.m. at Thomas College in Waterville against South champ Westbrook, a 42-31 winner over Edward Little of Auburn on Monday.
Isaiah Palmer and Dana Faloon each chipped in with eight points for Hampden. Other scorers were: Brianna Leneski 7, Joshua Leneski 2, Madison Mooers 4, Cordelle Moholland 5, Trevor Reed 7, Rachel Gardella 2 and Bobby Dudley 4. Kyle Prim also played while Baude connected for a 3-pointer.
Nick Johnson paced Bucksport with 16 points, including two 3-pointers, while Masen Dale added 10 points. Other scorers for Bucksport were: Charles Wescott 2, Caleb Robidoux 3, Quincy Howes-Mosher 6 (2 3-pointers), Jake Pyles 3, Brooklyn Knowles 2 and Zachary Hutchins 3.
