Amy Sidell is a member of the Science Department at Hampden Academy, teaching College Preparatory Biology and advising the HA Envirothon team. A graduate of Old Town High School, Ms. Sidell earned an undergraduate degree in environmental engineering from Dartmouth College and an MS in forest soils from the University of Washington. After 10 years of investigating and planning soil and groundwater cleanup activities at hazardous waste sites throughout the US, Ms. Sidell left the corporate world and headed back to her home state of Maine to raise a family. Looking to get back into the working world after seeing her children off to grade school, Ms. Sidell began substitute teaching in schools throughout RSU22, and recently embarked on a new career in teaching. Ms. Sidell currently resides in Hampden with her husband and two sons and when she's not at school, enjoys gardening, running (very slowly), relaxing at camp and spending time with her family.
