Mr. Ben Johnson is now in his fourteenth year of teaching Latin at Hampden Academy. He currently teaches all four levels of Latin, including AP Latin where the works of Vergil and Julius Caesar are read in depth. Mr. Johnson holds degrees in Latin and classics from Cornell University (B.A.) and the University of Florida (M.A). Mr. Johnson is also the advisor for Hampden’s Junior Classical League, which is one of the largest and most successful Latin clubs in Maine. He is also the Academic Team Leader for the World Languages department at Hampden Academy, and a strong proponent of the use of technology to complement the teaching and learning of ancient languages.
