In 2003, Jill Kenney began graduate school in the Counselor Education Master's program at the University of Maine in Orono. She had obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at the University of Maine in 2002, and knew she wanted to further her education in order to fulfill a lifelong dream of helping others. Jill earned her Master's Degree from the University of Maine in 2005. Her career at Hampden Academy began in 2004 as a Guidance Intern. It was in 2005 that she was hired as a full time counselor, and has been at Hampden Academy ever since. In 2009, Jill began the rigorous process of becoming a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of School Counseling Early Childhood Through Young Adulthood. In 2010 she became one of three school counselors in Maine to achieve her National Board Teacher Certification. Presently, she is one of eleven Nationally Board Certified school counselors in New England. In 2015, Jill became a co-Director of Guidance for RSU#22. Jill's proudest accomplishments are her two children, Maxwell and Samuel. They keep her on her toes and make her smile every day.
