School Resource Officer

Dan Stewart has been a member of Hampden Public Safety since 1987. He has been a Patrol Officer, Patrol Sergeant, DARE Officer and since 2010 has been assigned as the School Resource Officer for RSU 22.   Dan graduated from John Bapst High School in Bangor, Maine. He received an Associate in Science Degree from the University of Maine at Augusta in Legal Technology. He is a licensed EMT and cross trained as a pump operator for the Fire Department. He has attended additional training the areas as a Drug Recognition Expert, Certified Instructor for the Maine Criminal Justice Academy, D.A.R.E., Hostage Negotiations, CPR-First Aid Instructor, Basic and Advanced SRO Training, certified Crisis Response Team member through NAMI Maine to name a few. His office is located in Hampden Academy but he is available to other schools in the district.  He grew up in Bangor and now lives in Hampden. He has two children that attended RSU 22. The School Resource Officer serves a a law related educator, councilor and law enforcement officer for students, staff and parents in the district.
