Mr. Kimball lives in Levant, Maine with Peggy, his wife of 33 years. He has a daughter Lauren who is a 29 year-old married mother living in Orono, and a son Ryan who is 26 years old and living in Southern Maine. The Kimballs are especially proud of their beautiful granddaughter Annabel who is currently 19 months old.
Mr. Kimball is in his 7th year at Hampden Academy and 23rd year of teaching spending most of that time teaching science to 7th, 8th, and 9th graders at Hermon Middle School and Hampden Academy. For several years including a few years at Glenburn School and Hampden Academy, he served as a technology integrator helping teachers improve their teaching using computers and technology tools.
Mr. Kimball has received two teaching awards including "Technology Leader of the Year" presented by the Association of Computer Technology Educators of Maine (ACTEM) and the UNUM/Provident Starting 9 Teacher of the Year which honors 3 teachers at each educational level (elementary, middle, and high school).
When not in the classroom serving students, Mr. Kimball enjoys sports officiating working high school and a few college basketball and football games. He also enjoys time with family and friends hiking, enjoying the outdoors, and traveling. Prior to teaching, Mr. Kimball spent 11 years pursuing his dream of becoming a Major League baseball umpire. He spent 3 years in AAA just one step from the Majors. Being on the field with Hall of Famers and working in big cities all over the country was a great experience.
