Melanie Crowe earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a double concentration in Printmaking and Art Education from the University of Southern Maine and her Masters in Arts Education from Boston University. Upon graduation from Hampden Academy in 1992, Melanie has made art her life. While attending USM, Melanie worked full time at Artist & Craftsman Supply in Portland learning all there is about art materials and the arts industry. After earning her BFA, Melanie was selected to be one of eight from the world to attend the Tamarind Institute for Lithography in Albuquerque, New Mexico. At Tamarind, Melanie earned her Professional Printer’s Certificate in Lithography.  Mrs. Crowe is an active member of the National Arts Education Association, the Maine Arts Education Association, and serves as a Teacher Leader with the Maine Arts Leadership Initiative. Melanie has been visual arts educator since 2003 in Southern Maine and is so happy to finally come back home and teach at Hampden Academy. Melanie teaches 3-Dimensional Art and Digital Communications at HA.
